Cover Story The perovskite solar cell is developing quickly in recent years due to its high efficiency, low cost, and convenient fabrication, which is expected to play an important role for future photovoltaic technology. However, its environmental and operational stability remain major obstacles to its formal commercialization. Recently, many efforts have been made to improve the stability of perovskite materials against external stimuli such as water, oxygen, heat, and electric fields. Ning and co-workers summarize the recent progress of stability improvement of perovskite solar cells from a materials point of view, mainly including composition engineering, defect passivation, and crystal growth manipulation (see the review on page 3190).
